User Manuals for UpStage 1.1
By Helen Varley Jamieson, Patricia Jung

Posted 30 Jan 06

These are two PDF document manuals on how to install and use UpStage.

UpStage is a software development project that aims to create a web-based venue for online peformance and cyberformance.

Online audiences anywhere in the world are able to participate in live performance events by going to a web page, without having to download and install additional software and without needing to know anything other than a web address.

UpStage is free to download and we encourage you to use it for creative, educational and social purposes. It is open source and licenced under GNU General Public Licence (GPL).

The first version of the software was released in January 2004, and has been modified since. Download the latest version from Sourceforge, (latest version 27 September 2004).

The two PDF documents are

  • upstagemanual - Version 4.1 of the manual
  • upstagelinuxinstall - An article written by Patricia Jung (published in the Linux Journal, April 2005) about how to install UpStage on Linux.

These files were the latest versions as of 31 January, 2006. To check for more recent versions, visit http://www.upstage.org.nz/download.html
